Why is God So selfish?
Why is God’s request a need
But my own, a want indeed?
Why must God’s house be so fancy
But my house should not be much to see?
Why should I give to God’s missionary
When my own city is cold and hungry?
Why should I find God by going to church
As if God wanted me, but didn’t search?
Why does a man of God drive a brand new car
As I drive my clunker that does not get very far?
Why should your music program be so hot
But my stereo system be so not?
Why is God so selfish and unkind
What about healing the sick and the blind?
Why is God’s money used for investments
But for me, it is the root of disobedience?
Why does God need a coffee shop
And I have to wait at the bus stop?
Why is a mission trip a huge cost
But our own neighbors are still lost?
Why must God have padded pews
And the poor walk with holey shoes?
Why does God have a tall steeple
But seems to reject the lowly people?
Why does God pass the offering plate
And pass by the widow standing at the gate?
Why does God need elegant pipe organs
But only muse about the orphans?
So why is God so selfish?

O.K here is a freewillgiver wrapping responce to your poem.
Because not giving to the pastors in the church is a sin, the poor and the giving congregations lose, while the pastors collecting the tithe win.
Because leaglism and denominationalism is so strong, and the 20 thousand dollar organs in the church play along.
Because the church is considerd a building and the pastors are considerd preists. Congregations give to the rich and neglect the least.
Because christian children are educated in secular schools, and pastor have money to take vacations and pastor make the rules.
which say an offering is not holy untill it hits my collection plate.
Because folks don’t consider looking up tithes in the Bible, and they think the building is the only place for revival.
Offerings are above and beyond my moneytithe freewill giving I hate.
Can a man rob God? yall all know the verse if you don’t moneytithe my offering plate you are under a curse.
Tithe church comes first other ministries are secondary, including missions, your debts, and giving to the needy which is unnessisary.
Give to the church and we will meet the needs Tithe church is the profits that you must heed
Power to the pastors deakons staff and boards Power to the no profit organizational accord power you recieve when to the church you give no need to benifit the place that you live.
Money tithes are good, money tithes make pastors strong, money tithes seem right while other giving is wrong. Money tithes create sheep Money tithes send folks astray Money tithes send Offering and Freewill giving away.

Read the Bible in its original context. If you need help, ask (genuinely). Sarcastically developing your own theories and perspectives, that may or may not be Biblical, are futile. There is a reason that tithes, offerings, first fruits, and alms have been in existence for over 4000 years. God has a plan for all of it.
Remember, His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. You have to get beyond yourself if you are truly going to understand something of this nature.

Thankyou for replying. There is no sarcasim in my post. I think that Christian forced giving of 10% of their income to the local church is wrong. If pastors want 10% of their congregations money then they must ask and that is ok with me. Demanding the money by saying that money is a tithe required for Christians is wrong. Jesus and the new testement do not require tithing of money. The bible never required a money tithe. I just read all 40 scriptures in the Bible on tithing last month. You should do the same. After you have read pleas respond to my post I enjoy discussing the scriptutures.

Lost and needy souls don’t come to the church because they usually have nothing left to give and it seems that joining a church requires you give or they don’t want you to take up space in their there.
