I believe that Salvation is the most important gift to man! Thats what we should focus on. If what some of these preachers are doing is wrong, let them answer to God. Don’t get yourself in trouble by putting your mouth on them.

David could have killed Saul but he didn’t because he realized that God annointed him. We have to let God deal with those who have gone rogue. We also have to trust that not every pastor that is rich is rogue. Let us continue to pray for all people regardless if they are bad or good.

    • Hi bl

I do understand your point, but in this case it doesn’t accurately apply when compared to other scripture.

All believers are God’s anointed as we have the Holy Spirit within us; God is no respecter of persons, so He does not judge one different to another, we are all equally answerable to him. and even though we do have different offices and responsibilities, the ‘greatest’ of all, is servant of all and least of all.

Discussing the doctrines of ministry leaders is no more ‘putting your mouth on them’ than discussing whether the Janitor cleaned the toilets correctly – we are to judge actions and service – according to principles set out in the bible. Each person is answerable to God for what they do, but teachers and leaders, even more so. However, there is clear criteria for how leaders should be judged and how to determine whether they are false teachers (as in teaching error) or not.

All believers are due respect and honour for what God calls them to do. We all have a responsibility to fulfill our duties in reverence toward God and with godly attitudes in character, speech and behaviour.
We all have the same standard bearer and we are all without excuse. Therefore, although respect is due, we are not less or more in God’s eyes even if we are/are not pastors/teachers etc.

The main point here is that we can take a leaf out of the Apostle Paul’s book, who made it his duty to name those who were doing harm to the gospel of Christ.

Though Paul says we should not strive about words to no profit – he still warns us clearly about who to avoid. Here are some of the main persons whom he mentions:

      2 Tim 2:14-20:
Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. 17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, 18who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ[c] depart from iniquity.”

1 Timothy 1:18-20: This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, 20 of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.

2 Timothy 4:14-15: Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. May the Lord repay him according to his works. 15 You also must beware of him, for he has greatly resisted our words.

Titus 1:10-14: For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” 13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth.

titus 2:1: But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine…

There are more than these – Paul rebuked Mark, was upset that Demas left him, because he loved this present world and generally says to beware all false teachers.

Though the bible talks about not judging another’s servant, that is mentioned in regard to conscience with regard to eating and drinking / observing certain days – in that case each person will answer to God and there is not so much point in arguing and quarrelling over those things. however, with regard to false doctrine about prosperity/buying miracles with seed money etc., Paul in effect commands us that their ‘mouths must be stopped’ and they must be ‘rebuked’.

Although i do see where you are coming from, bl, we have a duty to rightly divide the word, in context, and to judge whether teaching accords with sound doctrine, or not, and where it does not, we need to alert others so that they are not deceived, led astray, or even, lost.

It is so important in these wicked end times…I do not believe that all TV preachers are pleasing to God – some may not even be ‘known’ by Him.

      May God bless you

Propesity Teachers - say “for how long must we wait on God, let us create our own kingdom on earth (based on Christian materialism and prosperity and preach this to the world, today). We want to become wealthy so that the world can see that God is with us. Everyone will
then come to God in this way – because they need evidence of this “great god” that we serve. And why should we just be onlookers of the riches in the “world”. Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”)
Jesus preached the truth to all who would here, but here enters satan again this time tempting the church to redeem itself.
Using the very same plan that lead to man fall from grace in the garden with Adam & Eve which caused a separation between God man.

When Your eyes cannot see what happening in the church today, then please open your heart -for it can see much more then our eyes ever will. Jesus introduced man to the “Kingdom of God”, spoke clearly about the expending the Kingdom of God in the world (by gathering more followers in this world, and preparing their souls for the spiritual a divine state, which unlike earthly world, is eternal.
Again, he (satan) did this successfully with the first man by drawing all Adams/Eve`s attention and consciousness to themselves and not on God where it should be. This is satan`s ultimate goal and whom better to deliver this broken message in his honour than those whom are open to it within the church.
        God bless

I don’ t think you ever read where Paul Rebuked Peter in Galatians 2:11 or this versein Titus 1:1  ”who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain” Read your whole bible from Genesis to Revelation. You will find Prophets and men of God rebuking false doctrine & people behaving badly all over the place! I don’t believe you have read your whole bible line by line!

Ah yes we must keep on praying, but this does NOT mean that we should not act – we must keep on speaking out against those that preaches their own gospel and do it in the Name of Jesus. Lets do it with LOVE, and also remember that the battle is not against the person (flesh & blood) but against principalities. In the same way a tennis player cannot call himself that if he arrives geared as a basket ball player .on the tennis court

It is in this spirit that the one man stood up and spoke against the Catlic Chuch and the pope (whom also believed that he was Gods representaive on earth at the time. Because of his obedience the church was transformed and fals docterine removed. All those that hear Gods word are custodians of it.We are all This man was Martin Luther (do the reseach) and see that what the pope preached at the time is not very diffrent from what is happening today. At Cross of Calvery the vail was thone in two and that meant that you and I have received the Authority to access and receive revelation of Gods word. On penticost we received the holy Spirit to guide us, and live in us – so as to truely understand what it means to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ. Jesus was not unclear asto why he come to earth.

Jesus replied, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” Matthew 8:20

One day Jesus and His apostles needed to cross a field that belonged to a Word-Faith Preacher. Security pulled …up to them and warned them they had to leave because this was private property. Jesus smiled and said He needed a place to stay that night. The guard pulled out his walkie talkie and reported to the front desk at the mansion in the distance. The call came back that guest are RSVP. The duty officer wanted to know who was tresspassing and if they had an invite. The message was passed to Jesus. He gave His name, why He came and that He did not need an invite. The guard passed the message on and gave a discription of Jesus and His apostles. The duty officer said he would report back in ten.
In fifteen minutes a van pulled up. The driver told the guard that the Preacher said that he was to drive them down to the Rescue Mission. This was the ministry he supported for homeless and indigent people. That night the mission had a revival….and the Word-Faith Preacher slept soundly in his bed.

One thing that has become very clear reading the comments , and that is that  complaining, and exposing is not the only way to affect change in the world today. Matt 5 vs 44,45 read :But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, -We must do what the word says.
Verse 45: that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the
evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.   That just how God is.

So, even if we dont agree with the false docterine being preached today. Bare in mind that there should be a marked diffrence in the way we exspress our concern for those who are indeed unconciuosly lost or even those leaders whom know the truth but have shoosen the to ignore it.

BUT, what ever we do, do not be quite, also do not act from your our mind and will -but rather be guided but the Word. Paul did this out of love for  God church and not out of personal disgust -This is important!!

You will hear them by the comments and the way they attact the fact that their believe in properity is being questioned. Shareholder is a private company will not sit and allow the financial auditors to question their payout of dividents or a CEO that has delivered a good financial report!!! REMMBER they are lovers of the world order, and NOT of the spirit.

True Christians are disciplined and filled with Gods “order” . I firmly belive that this period too shall pass. We will look back at this time “propesity teaching” and say ” How did this happen? Who did the church fall into so much sinfull teaching. That time is much closer that you might conceive.

    2 Timothy 3
1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
Let read vers 6 6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible omen, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

I pray for them to come to repentance!

  4. DENISNo Gravatar says:

i agree with the fact that God wants his children to prosper and to grow but did god want this that one should give his amount to a pastor who is moving in cars, plane, jet where the person don’t have one way fare to go to church, either you give it and go by walking or if you don’t give take the blame that you are not giving one-ten part to your church.

  5. Hi Sebastian and Denis

I thoroughly agree with what you both commented: I think history will judge the prosperity teachers quite harshly, but also be baffled as to why the people of God were say easily fleeced like simple-minded sheep?

I don’t mean to sound rude to fellow believers, I fell for all this stuff up until a few years ago, myself – the prosperity gospel is a highly seductive, ear-tickling message. When you constantly hear a message which starts with ‘who doesn’t want to be rich?’ ‘We all want wealth, don’t we?’ etc., etc., before you know it, mostly what we do when we come to the house of God is covet, hanker and desire after earthly riches!

These prosperity preachers have encouraged the believers to take their eyes off the true God and firmly fix their eyes on Mammon, the god of money; we can’t serve both. With regard to the ‘forced’ tithe – whether you can ‘afford it’ or not – it is wrong.

God says: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings’ (Hosea 6:6). that was written to the Old Testament believers, who were under the Old covenant of sacrificial giving – and even then God made it clear that more than giving, it was character and humble hearts that He was looking for. We are not in the age of law, but in the age of grace, where love, charity, good works and freewill service is the currency of the day and not prescribed, religious giving.

Do you remember when King David asked the Israelites to bring offerings to build a temple for God? They were so stirred in their hearts to be a part of this great work to honour God, that they gave and gave and gave…Eventually David had to say ‘Stop!’ You have given enough! One thing is for sure – our greedy pastors of today will never say ‘enough is enough’ and neither are some of them doing a great work, honouring and pleasing to God – despite the size of their TV ministries, auditorium, cars and houses.

Rather, some pastors are taking the people of God’s money so that they can live like white-collar CEO’s of major corporations, receiving regular dividends (the people’s tithes) on their investment (pastoring a church). Of course, just like King David, where there is a need to do a great work, the people should contribute toward it.

A church building is honouring to God. But so is mission and outreach work, giving to widows and orphans, opening and running schools, hospitals and clinics. feeding the homeless, sheltering the abused etc., etc.

Let the church know / take part in those kinds of good works which can be be done in the community amongst them or abroad, and watch the money come in to support it!

So many pastors seem to think that if we don’t teach ‘the tithe’ – the church won’t give. i think that is wrong. the church are already suspicious that their money isn’t being used right, but nobody talks about it – it is almost a taboo subject.

If church leaders were money honest about what money is needed and for what, the people could take more ownership and be able to scripturally ‘give cheerfully’ – and ‘abundantly’.

Saints – let’s take this thing seriously. It’s time to stop paying for your pastors’ first-class tickets to everywhere and for everything. Of course, from the offerings that come in the pastor should get a decent salary – if he does a decent job! And of course, you can personally bless him/her with as much or little as you choose to give beside what the church may support him with. If he is sharing with you spiritually, then the bible says it is not wrong that he share your material things (1 Cor 9:11, Gal 6:6). A pastor should be able to live from the gospel he preaches and the blessing that he is to the disciples.

But let it be done properly. Freely. Not out of compunction, guilt or shame. Not from teaching a false doctrine of enforced tithing – which is what New Testament tithing is, if it is taught as a ‘command’ or a ‘covenant-connector’ – it is certainly NOT a covenant connector. That statement is a manipulative, false teaching designed to trick believers into giving under compunction or feeling condemned and outside of God’s blessing if they don’t. The pastor who teaches such is a deceiver, full-stop. Let us have NOTHING to do with those who twist the gospel for selfish gain – not just desiring to be rich – but cooking up ways to be mega-stinking rich – they, their children and their children’s children! All from YOUR hard-earned cash! it’s got to stop.

May you rightly divide the word for yourselves and teach others and show them where to look to know the truth, so that the truth can indeed make them free.

    God bless

    Janet

  6. SebastianNo Gravatar says:

    Janet,

Thanks for your honesty its truly striking – Yes, I too, at some time supported this teaching – At the time I was just saved and very hungry for the word, I was so hungry for WORD, –it did not even matter where it come from or who it came from. However, as I matured in the Word in the word of God, and the revelations one gets from spending time in it. I too had to repent and stopped placing my own personal natural need for stuff before the word that actually fed my soul – Knowing that God will provide is more that enough for me, believing that hidding behand giving money is not in his word.

So I stopped putting money in envelopes (planting seed, because pastors told me to for the 100 fold returns) as if playing the National Lottery from one meeting to the next. And started focusing on the ministry of Jesus Christ and the things of the Spirit –So, help me if I am wrong, but that is what we as Christian should do. Even though I also needed stuff, I realised that this need for stuff should not consume my prayer life. Also, I need to sow more of myself into the lives of others, thinking about others, praying for circumstances rather than asking for stuff (cars, money, etc).More importantly I stopped funding anyone who asked me to give to Gods work, but rather focused on doing Gods work. Giving your tith is important, but I think we should not to leave it up to someone else (pastor) because we  am giving to the church as my personal doer. He will not be my advocate in haven. There is a difference! So, Jesus ultimately sowed Himself, not His money for me. Today, He received a harvest which is  my soul, which a submit to him for eternity, that is a good deal for me.  And I should tell other what he did for me. And this is His example so I will take his doctoring above any other, even if I get nothing in return form people in my life. We must be able to live with it!

Why, because even though He sacrifices or sowed himself He received nothing in return in this life, accept being put to death. – I think that this is something the human mind have great difficulty in understanding.Sowing in this life for a reward in eternity.Again Gods mind is not ours.

The garden of Eden does not exist on earth accept it -we messed it up by our disobedients!  Propesrity teacher want to recreate  Eden , it is  their mission.  They say we are sick of earthly suffering  “lets  us live like kings on earth, whilst we wait for the Lord to return “. And they want us to join this teaching

That why we still need to pray for the lost.

    Godbless

Because they have wrong minds which need to be renewd. Lets get those jets and fly into Africa to preach like Jesus told us. PleaSE shut down your site or start preaching the rizen Christ insted of hating on your friends. Get a Jet if you want who is stoping you.

Friend you are either ignorant, a fake christian, jealous or all.
    1. You have google adsense showing me you need money badly but you are looking for money by accusing your supposedly fellow christians. Their wealth makes you feel bad, how can you ever succeed financially in this life? What if their wealth is as a result of God’s blessing for their simple and consistent obedience will the same God bless you after despising His work in these minister’s ministries?
    2. How does God bless His servants that are in the ministry? Have you considered that prosperity for a child of God in business will translate into that business being successful and prosperity for a minister will translate into more congregation who receive blessings and in turn are happy to share with the minister part of their blessing?
    3. You run some website from wherever but some of these people have to criss cross the world preaching and giving people’s lives some meaning. Have you considered how much easier having a private Jet makes their ministry?
    4. If you still have a bible, go research how God instructed Moses to make the priest’s cloth, and learn that God wants for His priests to be clothed with dignity and honor. If you research deeper you will read that Paul says to esteem God’s ministers ‘highly’
    5. Pastor Keith Moore’s ministry has continued to give free messages and sends free CD’s into Africa monthly for people to hear the good news. These men have continued to touch lives in many ways, instead of holding them up in prayers for their commitment and service, you are building a website to make them look like criminals. These men are more useful to the world than you, yet you refuse to appreciate them.
    6. If you don’t understand how they could be this rich, then keep quiet and intercede for them or maybe ask God for clarification on them, but it will only hold you and your likes down in one place to castigate these noble men and ladies.

    3. Have you considered how many more people in the world they can minister to if they didn’t have to pay for a jet? Maybe they can support someone who is already in that area so they don’t have to travel?

The things of this world are distractions to us. Jesus spoke of this clearly! Our reward is in our hearts, and waiting for us in heaven. If we are seeking reward here on earth, then all our work and faith is in the flesh… in selfishness. Anything we gain from this selfish motivation will be cut off from God, like “a branch without fruit”.
Those who are defending this gospel of prosperity, are defending the work of the evil one, who has come into the fold to deceive and destroy. Those who follow this teaching have lost their focus on the love of Christ, as are pursuing worldly gain. They are the hypocrites, pharisees and money-changers that Jesus rebuked! Did he not flip the tables in the temple? “You have turned the house of God into a den of thieves!”
He who has ears, let him hear.

Also, do you have anything worthy of note that you will gain by doing this or is this just a matter of bias? The Word of God asked, “Who are you to judge another man’s servant”, because that’s exactly what you’ve done in public view.
